When The Queen Met The Devil in Prada

Yes! Your squinting eyes do not deceive you. You are not experiencing a hallucination, and you most certainly are not hung over from a lash out on the town last night. Here you are, indulging in your daily titbits from Brainstain and have instead stumbled across the peculiar sight of Queen Elizabeth II and Editor-in-chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour, sitting next to one another, side by side.

Worlds collided when fashion royalty met actual legitimate royalty this week when the reigning British monarch made a surprise appearance during London Fashion Week, sitting front and centre next to none other than the notorious and renowned Vogue head bitch.

Refusing to take off her trademark dark shades, even in the presence of the Swarovski-studded queen herself, Wintour managed to express somewhat of a grin / smile / human emotion as she watched on as the usual batch of anorexic models strutted their bones in British designer Richard Quinn’s runway show.

The queen looked ever the professional as she continued to rack up the notches of the number of public appearances she probably didn’t want to be at.

Maybe Meghan Markle was just too busy saving the world, or rescuing stray cats from a top of trees in order to attend?

But hey, she’s the Queen, and she’s used to protocol and pretending to be somewhat amused amongst the common folk. We guess it’s just one of the sacrifices that one has to make to be able to live at Buckingham Palace. Either that or the Queen actually loves fashion, which could very well be the case.

Anna Wintour on the other hand is a name in the fashion world that strikes sheer terror and utter fear into the hearts of many heterosexual white privileged men, whom are undoubtedly not found in the fashion industry so much. Guess that’s why she looks like a miserable ol’ wench, maybe.

Gawker

Anna Wintour has been editor-in-chief of Vogue since 1988. She dominates the gossip pages, and makes and breaks lives and careers in fashion. Drag queens and feminists alike absolutely love this shrewd businesswoman, and to be honest, if you don’t appreciate her fierceness, then maybe you’re a bigger ice queen than this supposed queen of the ice.

Or at the very least, a male chauvinist pig. Well, that’s the narrative Buzzfeed would like for you to follow anyway.

Many people of course who don’t identify with such politically correct subtleties, see Anna Wintour as the devil reincarnated, or at the very least some form of exaggerated evil satanic bitch in overly priced Manolo Blahnik heels.

The latter opinion is how everyone’s beloved overrated actress, Meryl Streep, played a fictional version inspired by the icy fashion editor in the smash hit film, ‘The Devil Wears Prada’.

You could actually say that Anna and Meryl are one in the same, since both are the epitome of the blind Hollywood supporter, and are friends of Harvey Weinstein… Yeah, really makes one question the fashion industry and Hollywood pimping culture again, doesn’t it?

The New York Times

Anna is also a long-time supporter of the Democratic Party, even donating considerable sums of money to Barack Obama’s 2008 and 2012 presidential runs. Well, we guess somebody had to fund those Russian spies…

The trendy devil worked alongside Hillary Clinton, the political monster herself, in 2016 when Wintour served as Hillary’s consultant on her wardrobe choices for key moments of the campaign. Those blue shell suit numbers were sure a banger!

The cherished and revered royal monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, on the other hand is a godly saint in comparison. Clapping her black-gloved hands as provocative models walked past her on the catwalk looking like they could do with a McDonalds Big Mac Meal (or half a dozen), wearing what could only be best described as decorated green motorcycle helmets with white polka dot leggings.

Sashay away and all that jazz!

After touring showrooms and presenting an award to the London-based designer of the show for apparent British design excellence (we guess bike helmets are in this season?), the Queen was out of there in a flash! Even at 91 years old, Queenie showed that she still out-styles them all. YASSSS QUEEN!
